This week's acqusition

Just one new VMC entering my flat this week - Mr Skeffington by Elizabeth Von Arnim. I'm planning to give up buying books for February and March as part of a frugal and lenten season, so this will impact of my VMC acquisitions! I'm hoping that friends will continue to be as kind in lending me books. I have had a last "binge" of Amazon marketplacing, so there should be some acqusitions to talk about next week, and you can read about my frugal february over on my other blogs. I'm planning to create a wish-list gadget on the side of this blog to list all of the VMCs that I come across and want to read but am unable to buy!

  1. I look forward to seeing your wishlist. Interesting to see which VMCs you're still missing.

  2. Thank you for stopping by to say hello Verity and I'm glad you liked my little piece on Persephone Books (love that place to bits!).
I see you have three blogs - I'm going to be spoilt for choice now! I'll be coming back often!

  3. Good idea. I tend not to hold on to books for too long unless I really love them (I just don't have the space). Otherwise it's off to the charity shop where they can (hopefully) be picked up by someone who'll appreciate them. I'll check your wishlist now before I send them off to pastures new.

  4. The wishlist is a great idea - I'll keep an eye out for them!

As it is, the Von Arnim is a wonderful last acquisition before the frugal period.

Let me know if there are any of mine you would like to borrow, they are tagged on LibraryThing (not difficult anyway as only catalogued by VMCs and Persephones).

  5. Alison - do think of me before you dispose of any VMCs!

Claire - it's rapidly expanding... There was one I wanted to borrow but I can't remember what - was itsomething like the Robber Bridegroom? Maybe we'll meet up soon and can exchange some books :) After April I have free Saturdays :)
