Today I'm going to show you DDM's other novels. It's been a while since I read most of these, so I am going to content myself with giving you their covers. One might be forgiven for thinking that the only DDMs worth reading are the classic four that I blogged about yesterday, but I would urge you to dip into her other books. Out of these, I particularly enjoyed I'll never be young again, Julius, and The loving spirit.
492 The house on the strand
497 The loving spirit
499 The king's general
501 Mary Anne
502 The scapegoat
505 Rule Britannia
506 Julius
507 The glass-blowers
509 Castle Dor
515 I'll never be young again
516 The flight of the falcon
518 The Parasites
535 Hungry Hill

I really would like to own and read all of the Du Maurier novels and short stories.
ReplyDeleteThe Works sell DDM boxsets for about £15. That's how I built up my collection. There are two different boxsets now and each contains about 9 of her books.
ReplyDeleteOoh thank you, Kess! That's how I'm going to build up my collection too.
ReplyDeleteVerity, I read Julius last year and loved it. The character of Julius is unforgettable, especially after his final act in the last chapter.
ReplyDeleteKess, that's a great tip. I wonder if The Works have an online store? The only Works by me is in town and it's a real faff to get there and back with a toddler in tow.
I've just checked the Amazon website and there are 96 reviews for Rebecca! There's a vague memory of reading this book when I was around 15 or so but I don't remember much about it, besides, it would read so differently now wouldn't it. Adding another book to my list...
